IN MEMORIUM AND DEDICA TION Fredrick C. Hauer The 1979-80 yearbook is dedicated to Mr. Fredrick C. Hauer, who died on October 12. 1979. as he was beginning his eighth year as administrator at Dogeland. He began his teaching career in Houston. Minnesota, where he taught English and World History. He taught there for three years. Then he decided to go into administra- tion and received his Master's Degree Guidance and Administration at age 26. He worked at Camp Douglas for two years, at Wonewac for ten years, and at Wautoma for six years. He then came to Dodgeland where he remained until he died. He was starting his 27th year in administration. This was longer than any member of the Wiscon- sin Association of School Administrators of which he was a member. His main belief was that the students were of prime importance and everything must be done to improve their education. One way in which he did this was by organizing effective guidance programs with exposure to career opportunities to aid students in choosing a career. He also promoted scholarships in schools. He encouraged local organizations to start scholarships. He felt that this gave an incentive to the students and gave them some- thing to work for. A scholarship fund has been started this year in his memory. It is hoped that this will be an annual scholarship given to a graduating senior of Dodgeland High. Mr. Hauer will be remembered by his family, the students and faculty at Dodgeland. and by his many friends.
