Thus year the senuor class has many memorues whuch brung back some of the best years of school The senuor class of l949 made theur grand entrance on September 3 l946 as lowly sophomores They were led by a capable group of offucers Pat Harrus Johnny Lewallen Erma Lee Lutz Jum Meyers and Walter Weuss On September 2 l947 they returned to Senuor Hugh as exultant uunuors Carol Jean Habuger Gary l-lulgers Sheula Hunter lum Meyers and Maxune Pennungton were chosen to lead the class un a very eventful year At the annual hugh school carnuval on December 3 the Junuor class captured second and thurd place honors On Saturday Aprul l7 the uunuors entertauned the graduatung senuors at an umpressuve candlelught banquet un the hugh school gym The prom followed ummeduately after the banquet The Junuors under blue and sulver carryung out theur theme Celestual Bodues Wuth the dawn of theur senuor year ut was found the capabulutues of the sensors were unlumuted The football queen Donna Belle Dowlung attended by Betty Hensel Karan Drolte Donna Arnold and Delores Adruan reugned over the Thanksguv ung game between Pratt and the Red Demons The annual student councul carnuval under the durectuon of Bull Chance and Goldabelle Noland co chaurmen was one of the best carnuvals un the school s hustory The queen of the floorshow was Muss Ameruca otherwuse known as Elaune Doll She was attended by Frances Baurd Sharon Oakes Januce Pen land and Maxune Pennungton The year was clumaxed by the senuor pucnuc On May 26 l949 the senuors marched across the platform un theur stately caps and gowns to receuve those long wushed for duplomas 24 I the direction of Dean Wagaman, head sponsor, decorated the gym in navy
