Putting out an annual is work with a capital W as any member oi the Sou'wester staff can testify. Deadline dates find the editors and their assistants frantically arranging pictures, typing copy, and puzzling over names. Long before that eagerly awaited day when the finished product arrives, these staff members are planning the pages, making dummies, and taking pictures. The Sou'wester is published by the senior class who raise money through candy sales at games, election of camival king and queen, enter- tainments, other activities, and sale oi the book. Using a shitty single wing for- mation. new to most of the boys, the Demons overcame an early setback to play a spectacular brand oi football all season. Many unusual thrills were witnessed by DCSHS fans this year: namely. the last minute touchdown against the Garden City Bulialoes to win 7-2: the freak Ietmore game played in rain and ankle deep water: and the brilliant run of Stafford through our whole team lor 60 yards to a touchdown to tie the game. Under the handicap of being undefeated and untied the year before, the Red Demons came through to win a clear second in the league.
