Virgil l'arman, direct- or, Donald Walker, and jess McKee, . x f Band Rounding out a well-distributed program ot activity is the music field, which is represented in part by the high school band, composed ot sixty potential Sousas. Always around to oblige were they when politicel rallies were staged, assemulies were held, and teams were on the field. The pep band was always on hand when yell tests were in session. Under the southpaw baton of Mr. Virgil l'arman, this year's group did right well for itself. They were a part of the music clinic held here january 24 and 25. For two days they were drilled by Mr. N. DeRubertis, Kansas City director and composer. March lil brought up their annual pay concert. at which they really shin- ed, April 4 and 5 found them engrossed in the district music festival, at which they brought home the bacon in the torm of four highly superiors May 8, 9, and 10 their labors were rewarded by a trip to the national festival in Topeka.-'I'hat's our band.
