The task of proyiding for an hour program once a week tor thlrtv six weeks for ftve hundred students and twentv two teachers was willed to assembly commltteers jatk Iasley George Gould and Harriett Izlema Built on the principle of faculty plus students plus cooperation equals progress the 'Student Louncil of Dodge High has forged itself a nameplate as an agent of democracv Its the setup of all the guys electing a few of the guys to vote for all the guvs Members of Student Council are chosen by activity rooms and organizations one from each With Elmer Feuerborn as gavel wielder and Miss Martha Barrett as faculty adviser the group meets once a week Conditions in other schools councils were observed first hand by sew en council members who attended the Kansas Student Lounctl Convention at Wichita Worth They returned both with information and booty thts being the vice presidency of the state group tor next year With the layout such as Dodge s organization represents thmgs naturally get done Student facultv cooperation coupled with the responsibility of events lying with the council gtv the high school group the power it has The two super events for which the group is responsible are year are assemblies choosing the lyceums alloting the activity ticket events making league flags for the gy m and generally keeping thmgs up to par 11 nut The annual gorv battle field day was in cluded as usual tn this years mail A typical blood and thunder shot is shown as juniors and seniors haxe a good clean mud fight No holds are prohibited as they make ft free for all of it The combination of student council chair men that opened the lock to a day of fun fight and frohc were counctlmen Mazey Lurry and Jim Ungles - i 1 ' ,L T n , 4 . Girl Reserve ---hub of activity Only a minutechip off the block of an influential organization, the Y. VV. C. A., Dodge High's G. R. kept up its share of the reputation awarded this world wide movement of girls. Progressive to say the least, some of the accom- plishments of the group of one hundred eighty, piloted bv Harriett Elema president, include a chili supper, distribution of telephone directories, deliver' .-em 4-- 3- ing Christmas baskets, mother daughter banquet, and sponsoring a carnival booth. Originating in the mind of the sponsor, Miss Lydia Haag, and infectiously spreading to the thoughts of the G. R. members was the idea of a local G. R. camp. Plans materalized so that eighty- five high-schoolers will spend an enjoyable three daysof camp life at Scott City's Camp Christy May Z3-26. State Y. W. experts aided by local women and mothers ot girls, will capably handle the executive work ot the new project that promises to become a much anticipated annual alfair. ual ll! F -ner.
