Construction Begins Fall of 1948 U Just a second, please . . . The MAROON and GREY Staff takes pleasure in presenting the i950 yearbook. Your first impluse will be to pass quickly over this page and turn to the more interesting ones which portray the academic and social life of the students of Dobyns-Bennett High School, but first, let us give you a brief resume of our aims and purposes in editing this yearbook. For our theme we have chosen the New Look at Dobyns-Bennett. This has been selected because, in each of the four years we have attended school here, we have seen Dobyns-Bennett change and grow, iust as we, as individuals, have changed and grown. The New Look may be found in many places around Dobyns-Bennett High School. We find it in our faculty, who, as a symbol of guidance and understanding, will always be new and inspiring to the future Dobyns-Bennett students. We see the New Look on the campus, in the well-regulated cafeteria, in the modern workshops, in the new enjoy- able classrooms, in the large, comfortable Sprankle Gymnasium. We meet the New Look in the earnest and friendly faces of the students of Dobyns- Bennett. Their honesty, their courage, their ever-new optimism in their ability to conquer the problems of life are a part of Dobyns-Bennett which we shall never forget! We have had many aims in mind as we worked on this book. The first was to make this the best annual that any MAROON and GREY Staff has ever presented. We have at- tempted to combine in this yearbook all the things which make Dobyns-Bennett so highly thought of, and the many classes and activities which we shall always remember. We hope that this i950 yearbook will increase in value to you as the days and the years go by! THE MAROON AND GREY STAFF Table of Contents Through the school yeor with Sue.
