HOMECOMING '84 Though the Dukes were defeated at the Homecoming game by LaSalle-Peru 26-19, the spirit at Dixon High was not destroyed. Throughout Homecoming week each day was a specific dress-up day planned by the Student Council: Monday - Skip School Day (Colum- bus Day), Tuesday - Lids and Shades Day, Wednesday - Hawaiian Day, Thursday - Punk Day, and Friday - Purple and White and Toga Day. and also the Student Council sold flowers for a friend. There was a pep assembly held Thursday night in which the football players, coaches, cheerleaders, and pom pons took part. After the game Friday night, the fans moved into Lancaster Gym, where the introduction of the homecoming court was held. The Dixon High School band played as the crowd entered the gymnasium and later the band Signal” played for the audience. Reigning Queen Lisa Fordham crowned John Dixon and Sally Monnier King and Queen of Homecoming 1984. The other Senior atten- dants and escorts chosen by the student body were, Debbie Blaine and John Bay and Caroline Hong and Scott Apple. The junior, sopho- more, and freshman attendants and escorts chosen by their own class were: Junior attendants, Stephanie Segura and Brad Dixon, Sophomore attendants. Jody Heacock and Sean Rock. Freshman attendants, Kris Canterbury and Luke Dixon. The Student Council elected Ryan Ben- son and Sue Larkin, Duke and Duch- ess. The climax of Homecoming was the dance held at the Masonic Tem- ple.
