ROW 3: Wayne Neal, Shirley SIS Members Invest in New Stock In its second year at DHS, the Student Investors Syn- dicate offered a profitable method for students to gain knowledge of the stock market. Utilizing the five dollar dues paid monthly by its members, the SIS purchased shares of stocks and securities through the major stock exchanges of the country. President Ken Miller, with the aid of vice-president Tom Wadsworth, treasurer Wayne Neal, and secretary Patty Jo Thomas, led the Syndicate for the '69-70 year. ROW 4: Robin Tolle, Steve Bush- man, Mark Jordan, Ken Dunwoodv, Timothy Britz, Bruce Hill, Dc- waine Nelson, Tom Wadsworth ---- Ann Murphy DAR Winner | Ann Murphy was the 69-70 recipient of the DAR award. Based on character, citizenship, and patriotism, Ann and two other senior girls were elected by their classmates. The faculty then made the final decision by voting on the three semi-finalists. Ann and her mother were invited to luncheons in both Dixon and Chicago. Ann was a member of Future Teachers, GAA Spanish Club, National Honor Society, and Quill and Scroll. She served as secretary of Student Council during her sophomore year and was co-editor of the Dixonian her senior year. 30
