Li 1 Abner Company is Largest on DHS Stage “Ah intends to give you a spoonful everyday till the day you dies . . . and for several weeks thereafter! Speaking about her famous Yokumberry Tonic, Mam- my Yokum opened the spring musical production of Lfi Abner with a roar of laughter from the audience which did not die until the final scene. In producing Lfl Abner the fine arts department, along with many other individuals, put in hours of hard work in costuming, memorization, and staging. Every- one involved would have to agree there were moments of disgust and dispare, but these were far outnumbered by the fun of putting on a comedy like Li’l Abner. With the largest cast in Dixon High history, Li’l Abner called for more preparation than any previous musical, but it also had the distinction of being the big- gest production yet. Li’l Abner was directed by Mr. Wiltz, with the assistance of Mrs. Carter as dramatic coach. Ah has spoken! says Mammy. The scientists express dedicat ion to their methods. The senator says Dogpatch will Ik bombed The Dogpatchers learn they must move.
