As principal of DHS, Sheldon Bross has earned the respect and admiration of the entire student body. Mr. Bross not only prepares our curriculum, sched- ules our classes, and assigns our teachers, but he also plans athletic programs and gives invaluable aid to seniors planning to attend college by filling in their various application blanks. After receiving his Bachelor's degree at Carthage College and his Master's degree at the University of Colorado, Mr. Bross began teaching at Mendon, Illinois. In 195-L he began his duties as principal of DHS. The gradu- ating class of 1962 wishes to express its sincerest thanks to Mr. Bross, our principal. Marvin Winger, our assistant principal, has just completed his 26th year as a member of the DHS faculty. He attended both the University of Illinois and the University of Wisconsin, receiving both his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degree from the latter. He began teaching and coaching in his native town of Walnut and in 1939 became a history and economics instructor at DHS. In September of 1956 he assumed the position of assistant principal. His various duties include supervising registration, absence, tardiness, and disciplinary action. This year we would like to commend Mr. Winger on his excellent speech that he gave at the Homecoming pcp rally and wish him the best of luck in his forth- coming years at DHS. ,Av-5
