Sheldon liross -'Principal Sheldon H. Bross assumed his position as principal ot' Dixon High School in IED54. Mr. Bross received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Carthage College. The Vniversity of Colorado granted him a Master of Arts degree. He has also studied at the l'niversity of Ill- inois and the lfniversity of lowa. The grad- uating class of 1958 appreciates Mr, Brossl guidance during its four years at Dixon High School and hopes that he experiences a most favorable future. Marvin Winger --Assistant Principail Marvin Winger, who has heen at Dixon High School since 19239, assumed the position of assistant principal in September of 12156. He has studied at both the l'niversity ot' Illinois and the llniversity of VVisconsin and received his Bachelor of Arts and Masters of Arts degrees at the latter. As assistant prin- cipal, Mr. Winger supervises registration, dis- ciplinary action, absence, and tardiness. The class ot' H358 expresses its gratitude to Mr. W'inger for his services and wishes him success in the future. Sherwood Dees 'Superintendent of Schools Having now completed his third year as superintendent of schools, Mr. Sherwood Dees continues his service as a medium between the Dixon pulolic schools and the school hoard. Among the actual duties ot' Mr. Dees are preparing a hudget for the school district, recommending employment ot' new teachers and other school employees, and carrying out, the policies ofthe Board ot' liducation. We, the students ot' DHS, agree that Alr. Dees has done a fine joh as superintendent oi' schools and we wish to express our thanks. 7

School Board-Administration The running of our sehool is eondueted by the school board whose members serve without pay. The board meets on the seeond Wednes- day of eaeh month, but the members often find it neeessary to put in extra time on Various other oeeasions. Their aim is to pro- vide equal edueational opportunities for all the ehildren of this area. The board has reeently been making plans for expanding Dixon High School to aeeom- modate our ever increasing enrollment. There will be extensions on the north and west sides of the present building. Besides adding many new elassrooms, a music' room for the band and ehoir, a eafeteria, a gymnasium, and extra shop rooms will be built. The graduating elass of 1958 wishes to thank the members of the sehool board for their endless efforts on ours and the rest of the sehool's behalf. Hr. Bross looking over seliool plans lime 1: Dr. C.
