II Iilffllill AUGUST 29- Heigh ho, heigh ho-it's off to work we go . . . School opens. SEPTEMBER 2- Wake up, chillun, wake up . The Watermelon Feed has done arrived. 5- I love a parade . . .The Band plays at Vallejo and the students observe Labor Day by taking a rest. 9-Holiday - - Admission Day. l0-- Heigh ho, come to the fair . . .The Band makes its debut over the network at the Sacramento State Fair. 16-The frosh don their best bib and tucker and try to impress us. iThey failedl 27- l'm strong to the finish, 'cause I eats myspinach . . . Santell,the strong man, impresses us. OCTOBER 7-We meet our Waterloo in the Davis football team. 7- Cock-a-doodle-doo . . . The Chanti- cleer staff gives a crow of a dance. I2- Homc will never be the same again . . .We get our first report cards. I4- lf at first you don't succeed-- it's too bad . . , Winters' football team defeats ours. Zl- Where there's a will, there's a way . . . We win from Clarksburg's football team. 27- Less broken cameras this year than usual . . .We all look pretty and getour pictures taken for the Chanticleer. 28-They came, they saw, we conquered. We defeat Esparto's football team, 28- The goblins will get you if you don't watch out . . . Witches, ghosts, and the senior class chill the student body with a l-lallowe'en Party. NOVEMBER 4- Peanuts, popcorn, crackerjack . . . Queen Helen Kilkenny presides over the annual Junior-Sophomore Carnival. l l-We celebrate Armistice with a vacation from school. l8- You've got to be a football hero . .. The G. A. A. salutes the gridiron heroes and finishes the football season with a bang by means of a dance. 21-23- The teachers get a dose of theirown medicine . . .They attend lectures. 24-25-With thanks to the Pilgrims we take l 5 9 a long-awaited vacation and munch turkey. DECEMBER - Then came the lndians in the form of a great athlete. .lim Thorpe entertains us with a story of himself. -- Oh, to be a gridiron favorite . ..The football players are rewarded for their efforts with a banquet. - The tables are turned . . .The boys are meekly escorted by the weaker sex to the Chanticleer's Sadie Haw- kins dance. l4- Seeing is believing . . .The students see dear old Santa Claus with their own eyes at a special Christmas Matinee.
