on my merry way snooping and spying on all twenty two members of the DIXIE Senior Cla s of 47 Ah' Me' This lb the life And so excltrng too I fmd myself in a. fast moving exotic city A c1ty which is composed of fabulous sights and people Only then do I realize this could only be Hollywood As I approach the famed corner of Hollywood and Vine I blink my minute eyes in awe a11d wonder ment at the slght before me Draped in furs and 1ewelry IS the dramatic star of all time DIXIE Dare the former Ardene Frantz Even though she has many famous friends and swarms of fans she leads a modest life ln a twenty five room mansion in B verly Hllls California Moving on from the West Coast I stop off in Kansas City Kansas Posted all ver the city are notices advertising an all request conc rt which is to be given by the Kan as City Symphony Orchestra Because th1s atom rs a lover of good music I stay to listen to the program As guest artist they have Mlss Patricia Ann Dov V playing solo trombone My evening is filled with diatonrc scales major intervals drminrshed trrads and other pha es of mus1c I learn that MISS Dovey is making a cross country tour After arriving 1n Dayton she plans to reunite with her old friend Doris Guenther who IS president of Dayton s newly constructed Academy of Music Because I am a red blooded atom I pay a visit to the Capitol of the Unlted States to ee how my government IS funct1on1ng Oblivious to all I attend a session of the 85th Congr ss Ohros up and coming senator has the floor and he is delivering a speech with much gusto and feeling against a bill introduced by the House which he has been frlibusterrng for the last three days Oh I almost forgot the name of the senator IS Karl Serm A senator at the age of 27' But he was o much in demand that the rules and regulations were overlooked just this one time My trip would be incomplete unless I toured the great metropolis New York City After riding the subway viewing the Statue of Liberty and v1s1t1ng the U N Building I decided to take a sight erng tour through the Empire State Building Whew' Whatta place' I spy an elevator and up up and away we go On about the 80th floor my wee stomach can take no more After getting off the elevator I realize this IS the floor which houses the offrces of the famous magazine Allure Vera Smith the chief designer and art editor 1S dashing around like mad in a very chic su1t WhlCh she d signed herself She is also personal designer of clothes for many actresses and prominent women galaxy of stars Neon lights are constantly flrckermg on and off One particular mar ou e catches my eye As I observe closer I read Mickey and Jean the dance team Th1S I cannot mlss I take a front seat Just as the curtain IS rising I am overcome Wlth amazement This dance team IS none other than Byron McNelly and Betty Gear hart Their rendltion of the modern dance is magnificent and they rec 1V6 encore after encore Looking over my neighbors program I read that Betty and Byron have be n a team for over five years After many small town engagements they fmally hit the big tim and it looks as if they re there to stay From New York I dash up to Boston where I m mf rmed one of the Senlor girls is employed at the Boston Times newspaper Upon arr1v1ng rn the elite c1ty of Boston I h ad straight for the B ston Times Building Becau e this lS visitors day I am royal lv ushered into the offrces along with the other spectators As our tour 15 nearing the end we approach the offices of the Chlef Foreign N ws Reporter In her private ff1ce IS no one but the Chief herself Vera Jean Dl11Oll who has recently returned from Russia on a special news a srgnment Oh' these en11nent Seniors The scene has changed and I am in a very level and beautiful country I n tice a and read on one of the buildings M1am1 University So this rs where Don Etter is coach of a girls football team They are better known as Etters Energetrc Eleven I m told that today IS the big game be
