e Dedicated To To Charles E Guntle who for longer than we can remember has shown unselfish devotion and untirnng servnce to our school, we gratefully dedicate our annual We hope that Dixie wlll always remain worthy of his faith in her SPORTSMANSHIP A good sportsman is one who in sports cheerfully abrdes by the rules and regulations of the game and is a good loser and a courteous winner He always tries to do his best playing the game with his team mates and giving them an opportunity to do their best He recognszes the prowess and fme qualltues in his rivals and when there is an opportunity he commends fine play and sportsmanshnp displayed by members of the opposing team The above comprises a great deal and sometimes takes great courage ln the excitement of keen remember that it pays to be ladies and gentlemen at all times and should strive to give to our guests and competitors the some consideration and courtesy that we prrze from others We get out of life that which we give to others viz honor respect happiness and courtesy We have been proud of the exemplification of fine sportsmanship rn our school during the past basketball season The members of the team the cheer leaders and the student body in general have dis played a fine sportsmanlike attitude about which we have heard a number of favorable comments Let us keep up the good work and strive to govern our conduct that good clean sportsmanship wlll always be out standing at Dnxne And after the game is over much as we have desired to win let us always remember that Wmnlng the Decision is less important than The Way We Play the Game Chas E Guntle Page Two ' 1 I . .
