Proud and erect it stands housing our tears, our laughter, our hopes, and our joys of the years we have spent within her walls. We glance backward with pleasant memories and then to the future with fond hopes of the fulfillment of our dreams and attainment of our goals, Here we remem- ber the past, enjoy the present, and pre- pare for the future. We entered as a boy, a girl-we emerged as a man, a woman. To us, Dixie Heights will always stand as a symbol of learning, leadership, and in- spiration. ,-Q1 .9 fav ' .Y 'Q o 1' Y, f . 1:15 r .f V, , ,af , it W 2 .xg , in fill.. The l957 football season at Dixie Heights proved to be another successful one. Mr. Bill Shannon's Little Colonels compiled a 9-l-l record during the season. The Colonels improved all year but were nosed out by the Highland's Bluebirds in the last game of the season for the con- ference championship. Boone County also held the Colonels to a tie. The Colonels downed for the fourth year the Holmes Bulldogs. Other victims of Dixie were Newport Catholic, Somerset, Lloyd, Bellevue, Dayton, Newport. That's what you are going to see, all the little things that happened which are so important-like wondering if he'll call you again-wonden ing what will happen on the first date-our song-the smell of popcorn--his hand hold- ing yours at the movies-all those wonder- ful moments that change your whole life. WE WERE YOUNG THAT YEAR is amusing, touch- ing, dramatic-and different. An imagina- tive, modern comedy, it. requires no scenery and moves with the speed and continuity at a motion picture as it passes from the porch, to the car, to the girls' club meet- ings, to the theater, and to the formal dance. Easy, yet interesting to stage, it con- cerns problems young people everywhere face and understand. -1, meiuw.
