GEM paeplzeaf Woe is me! Inventing my atomic rocket ship wasn't as easy as I thought. The pieces simply wouldnit fit together. What was I to do? Boom! Crashi Boom! That was the last I remembered, for quite a while. until i found myself Heal- ing through space in my own uninvented rocket ship. As 1 sped along. 1 began to think of my ciassmates from Dixie and what had happened to each one Groovy Gregory. alias Biiiy Gregory. organ- ized his own jive hanci imown as uThe Dixie Land Swing Band anti has Glen Revel as his vocalist Nina Heilard is part owner of the Heilard anci Geilard's Alleys and Billiards. Calvin Baker. through experiments in radar, invented a lie detector which is used exten- sively at Dixie by Miss Rouse. Jerry Froelicher achieved her goal and has written the great American novei entitled uHow to Win Men and Keep Them. Jack VVitticamp anti Bob Voskuhi for the last Five years have been rival coaches at two weiihknOWn schools, Ludiow and Dixie, Jack. of course. coaches at Ludlow. Ramona Raabe put her salesmanship to good use. She marriecI her boss. Biiiy Rusconi became another Einstein. He's a whiz at checking Figures. Doiores Schultz and Betty Earls are secre- taries for Rufus Raufus Loans and. Losses inc. Bob Mullins and Charles Madcien took ad- vantage of their training in printing. They pub- lished The Bluegrass Cutter. Bi Presneii and Robert Schawe are their reporters on uHow Blue the Green Grass is Growing. Phyllis Nicholson, who pianneti to be a pharmacist, became instead a pharmacist's mate. Kenny and Ralph Caldwell opened an Inn called Caldwell and Caidweii's Come on Inn. Gloria Threikeid. a famous lecturer on Bioi- ogy, attained fame when she ciiscusseci uThe Flight of the Bumble Bee. Mike Johnson and Boia Squair are designing zoot suits for the weH-dressed Jacks of the day. Mae Cogsweii has become an English teacher at good old D, H. S. and her motto is. The Less Work, The Better The Grade. The Dixie Trio, Mickey Morris, Jean Savage. and Martha Bradley. have their own radio proe gram on Station L S M F T, Gienn Wegener is their Master of Ceremonies. Leonard Schuite. not quite as undernourished but just as popular, became a second Sinatra. anci Glendora Northcutt is his professional SWOODEI'. Mary Parsons went to college and majored in gymnastics. She ended up by marrying Physical Ed. The seleclions are based on the pupils' high standard of scholarship. pleasing prcsonality. good Character. and willingness to participate in class activities and school affairs.
