Captain Paul H. Dallmann, USN, was born in Lewisville,
Ohio on io june 1923. After spending one year at Southern
Illinois University he enlisted in the Navy on 25 March, 1941
and served aboard USS CORRY CDD-4635 in the Atlantic in
1942, and the USS MURRAY QDD-5765 in the Pacific in 1943
and the first half of 1944. He attended De Pauw University
in july 1944 and subsequently graduated from the University
of Notre Dame in june 1946 with a Bachelor of Naval Science
Degree and a Commission as an Ensign.
Captain Dallmann served aboard the USS MC KEAN QDD-
7845, USS MERVINE QDMS-31D and the USS VALLEY FORGE
QCVA-455. During these tours he served as Assistant Gunnery
Officer, Gunnery Officer, ist. Division Officer, Fire Control Offi-
cer, and Air Defense Officer. He also served as a Naval Gun-
fire Liason Officer and Spotter with the 8TH Army in Japan
and with Marine and Army units of the 1oTH Corps in Korea
in 1950, Gunnery Instructor at the U. S. Fleet Gunnery School,
San Diego, California, in the office of the Chief of Naval
Operations as Assistant Head of Manpower Training Allocations
nd Policy Unit, Staff DESRON 21 as Chief Staff and Squadron
perations Officer, and Head of the Enlisted Distribution Control
ection, Bureau of Naval Personnel. Captain Dallmann served

Captain Dallmann attended Post Graduate School, Monterey,
California in 1953 and Stanford University in 1957-58, where
he graduated with a Masters Degree in Personnel Management.
He is a graduate of the Senior Command and Staff Course
fMarine Corps Scoolb Quantico, Virginia 1962-63 and the In-
dustrial College of the Armed Forces, Washington, D. C.,
Captain Dallmann has been awarded the Legion of Merit
with Combat "V ", Navy Commendation Medal, Combat Action
Ribbon, Vietnam Armed Forces Honor Medal First Class, Pres-
idential Unit Citation with one star and the Navy Unit Com-
mendation with one star. Among his campaign and service
medals are the American Defense Medal, American Theater
Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Medal with four stars, European-
Middle East Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal,
National Defense Medal, Navy Occupation Service Medal with
Asia Clasp, China Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary
Medal, Korean Service Medal with four stars and Marine Corps
Combat Device for Naval Personnel, Republic of Korea Presi-
dential Unit Citation, United Nations Medal, Vietnam Service
Medal with three stars, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign
Captain Dallmann assumend command of the USS DIXIE
CAD-145 on I2 September, 1969 at Subic Bay, Republic of the
Captain Dallmann and his wife Mary reside in Point Loma,
San Diego, California. They have three children, Paul 22, an
Army Second Lieutenant, undergoing Ranger Training, Stephen
2o, a Combat Medic with the 173RD Airborne Brigade in Vietnam
and Anne 15, a student at Point Loma High School.

Lieutenant Commander Robert E. BAKER, USN, was born in
Douglas, Georgia on September 13, 1932. He graduated from South
Georgia junior College and attended the University of Georgia Law
School. He entered the United States Naval Academy in june of
1952, and was commissioned Ensign upon graduation in june of 1956.
Lieuuenant Commander BAKER,S first tour of duty after gradua-
tion was aboard the USS CARPENTER QDDE-8255 as Navigator and
Communications Officer. He served in the capacity of Staff Secretary
of COMDESRON 25, where he was promoted to LTJG, on December
1, 1957, After a short tour as Eirst Lieutenant on the USS LOS
ANGELES CCA'I35b, he was de tached to attend postgraduate educa-
tion at the Naval Intelligence School in Washington, D. C. Upon
graduation he was sent to Monrovia, Liberia, as assitant Naval Attache.
In September of 1963 he assumed the position of Executive Officer
of the USS PARLE QDE-7085, Wllffiflii' on july 1, 1965 he was
promoted to his present rank of Lientenant Commander. Following
a tour of shore duty with the Defense Intelligence Agency in
Washington, D. C., He was assigned to the USS NEW JERSEY
QBB-625, as First Lieutenant. In july of this year he was given
the assignment of Executive Qfficer aboard DIXIE.
Lieutenant Commander BAKER has been awarded the National
Defense Ribbon, Combat Action Ribbon. Navy Unit Commendation
Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon, Vietuam Service
Medal, the Navy-Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal and the Navy
Commendation Medal with Combat NV".
Lieutenant Commander BAKER, his wife Annice, and their two
children, David four, and Emily one, reside in Los Alamitos,
