Our Class has seldom had a hard time reaching its goals largely in part of the efforts of Mr. Di Napoli. He is a man who never hesitated to give his all to the members of this class. He is an individual who believes in individualism. He never discouraged our ideas, no matter how different they were. He made us believe in ourselves as a class and that belief has put us in a class of our own. Mr. DiNapoli is unique. He is wild, crazy, and funny, but most of all. he is one of us. We have yet to meet a person who has worked harder to make any class as successful and outstanding as the Class of '82. We hope this small message of thanks can somehow inspire Mr. DiNapoli to help another class as much as he did ours. We have to thank the “Lord” for everything he did with us. SPECIAL THANKS The Class of '82 would like to extend its deepest possible appreciation to Mr. Joe Patrovich. Mr. Patrovich has been teaching at our school for a very short time. In that short time he has done something for our school as well as our class. Mr. Patrovich has injected a certain kind of spirit that has been lacking for a long time. That spirit has an awful lot to do with associating the name Division, with the word class''. He is a man who has a great deal of it and because of him we can say that we now have it also. That is the way Mr. Patrovich is, he adds a little bit of himself to everything he does. He has shown us much, simply through the fine qualities he never fails to display. The Class of '82 would like to wish the best of everything to Mr. Patrovich in his future years as a teacher and coach. Thanks for everything. Coach. We’ll miss you. 19 Lisa Abisognio Karen Adams Christine Allen Hussain Al-Sullami Diane Alvino Joanne Amendola Timothy Andron Suzanne Anello 22 Richard Ascoli John Backer Edward Barry Lois Bcllavia Jeffrey Bernstein Debra Bishop Roberta Bloom Eileen Brennan 23 Gerard Brown Muir Brown Scott Brownstein William Burgos Steven Burke Lisa Byrne Ellen Byrne James Caillias Nancy Canarelli Cheryl Caputo Joanne Cardoza Susan Carr Diane Carroll Kim Casey 25 Noclle Carroll Robert Cassidy Michael Castro Timothy Cheslik Jerry Chiocchio Jeanne Compton Kelly Conroy Cindy Clare Coleen Coleman Diane Connor Karen Constantine Candace Conway Edward Cook Michael Corrente Chris Corritore Ann Marie Cotsifas Christopher Cotter Mary Crabbs 27 Gary Curtis Mike D’Andrea Debra Daniele Susan Dargenio Shawn Dawson Eric DeBono Pamela DeCaro John Deer 28 Carl DcFranco Anne Delaney Mindy Dess Judy DiMonda Jo Ann DiSalvo Michael DiTomasso Steven Dochniak Mary Donnery 29 Jean Doran Douglas Dougherty James Duffy Thomas Duwe Ann Dyer Tara Effingcr 30 Edward Dyrlie William Elliott Ricardo Elvir Todd Esposito Stephen Farmer Nancy Fox Jill Fulton Jeffrey Gabriel 31 Charles Grant Kimberly Graves John Gray Irene Greening Susan Guerra 32 Dawn Gulli Lorraine Hatpin Donna Halvorson Thea Hans Lynne Haseney Donna Hughes Lisa Ignizio Denise Inciarrano Elizabeth Jenkins David Joyce Patricia Kanaby Steven Ingrassia Scott Isola Victoria Katsaounis Frank Katz Maryann Keller Kristen Kelly Dorianne Kennedy Dawn Kinsella Andrew Klobcrdanz Barbara Konopclko Margaret Krach Eileen Kelly James Kelly Elinor Laban Aldo Lafiandra Dennis Lang Kathleen Lang Elena Lanzisera David Lasker Salvador Lima Linda Lombardi 36 Lisa Lombardi Michael Lopez Elliot LoPiccolo Maureen Lynch Janne Mar Carol Marshall Debra Mathisen James McAndrews 37 Diana McCarthy David McCarty Catherine McCormick Michael McCue Peter McGough Jacqueline McGowan Aviva Meckler IS Patricia Mensch Christopher Merkel Robert Mirro Roger Mock Lisa Moore Deanna- Moreback Helen Muller Kathleen Munnelly Monica Munnelly 39 Lisa Naylor Wendy Neifeld Nancy Nowak 40 Linda Passaretti Christine Payton Evan Peck Thomas Phelan Jeanine Pickard Kevin Powell Jennifer Prchal Andrew Quattropani 41 Steven Reid Anthony Romano Michael Rabinowitz Jennifer Reilly Karen Robinson Janine Ratliff Terence Reilly Audrey Rogers Patrick Roscnbergcr Kenneth Rubino Lucille Ruvolo Kenneth Sager Gennaro Sammarco William Schiffcr Janet Schoenberg Yvonne Shady Leslie Schindler Christina Shehi Denise Sheridan Margaret Smith Gina Simonetti Joseph Smithwick Vincent Solferino James Sommers Edward Sparrow David Spradlin Paul Stasko Debra Stremel Andrew Sullivan 45 Thomas Sullivan Maureen Travers Steven Tarpinian Thomas Terrel Louis Vagnuolo Diane Vella Jeannie Ventrelli James Watson Joseph Weingart Laurence Weinstein Cynthia Wheaton Raymond Wier 47 Giselle Yen Abbic Yesner Christopher Zappalla Lora Zarb Elena Zeoli Dafna Zlatin Craig Zwerling 48 9 LISA ABISOGNIO 2 Cherrytree Lane Jr. Hon. Principal The Class of '82 reminds me of the statement “When the going gets tough, the tough get going.’ Time and time again students in the Class of '82 have had to face adversity and “bad times.” Each challenge was met with enthusiasm and a strong will to succeed. Results? Success! The Class of‘82 has already met the challenges of carrying the heaviest course load, increased standards for achievement, and more stringent demand upon attendance and promptness. Without question, this class has achieved well and have im- proved the school attendance records. The Class of '82 has reflected its determination to succeed by giving its all to become a strong power to contend with on the athletic fields and courts. Each team demonstrated high quali- ties of courage, discipline, and performance. These outstand- ing qualities have also permeated the “Flame”, the Yearbook, and the work of the other clubs and organizations. Best of all, the quality of living and learning has become the best ever. Learning in a clean school with serious minded students and effective teachers has raised the achievement levels both quantitatively and qualitatively. No one—students, teachers, administrators, non-instructional staff, and parents—can escape praise and recognition for these accomplishments. To the Class of '82: Thank-you for making this year the best ever! Sincerely, Dear Graduate, Each class has a separate and distinct personality from any other graduating class. From your entry in Tenth Grade to the Senior High School, you quickly displayed characteristics of overwhelming enthusiasm and participation. You sought bold approaches to existing traditions with the goal of improving those traditions which have been passed down some twenty- two years. As Sophomores you surprised both the Juniors and Seniors by putting together an excellent class basketball team to win and tournament of grade levels. As Juniors, you were willing and able to take your Junior Prom outside of the school to Uncle Sam’s and have an excellent time. As Seniors, you will be the first graduating class to have your commencement off school property at C.W. Post College. However, where your personality was the most obviously ob- served was in your whole-hearted support of our athletic teams. Your sense of good humor and antics demonstrated to our athletes that they had not only numerical support but also uplifting vocal support. No one doubts that along with the great talent of the athletes that this support was a dominant factor in our winning the Nassau County Volleyball Cham- pionships and the greatest award of all in football—The Rutger's Cup. Through the years, I have made a number of personal friend- ships with members of the class. 1 know that you have made even more and these friendships are an important part of your education. Nourish them well. To each member of the Graduating Class, may I extend my heartfelt wish for your success. Remeber that you only have one teacher in your life-time and that is yourself. May you become everything that you are capable of being. God Bless. A-1— 58 Dr. Frank Fusco Principal BOARD OF EDUCATION Gerald Lauber Supt. I'd like to thank all the people that gave me the opportunity to be class president. It was a great chance to lead a great bunch of people through the ups and downs of our junior and senior year. Throughout the years, this class proved that one does not have to sacrafice academics, school property, school spirit or proper behavior to have fun (and boy, did we have fun). Instead it pioneered new sources of entertainment that will be emulated for years to come. I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank the following people who helped when it was needed most: Tommy, Jill, Tony, Lucille, Pam, Wendy, Mike L., Mike C., Rob C., Todd, Doug, and Elena. A special thanks to Mr. Graham and Mrs. Oringer. A very special thanks to Mr. DiNapoli, whom without, we had nothing. Thanks to all and good luck. 94 Thomas Sullivan -Vice President Anthony Romano -Treasurer NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY Lisa Abisognio, Karen Adams. Chrissy Allen. Gerry Brown. Lisa Byrne. Sue Carr. Even though their season was not one of their best, they were always on a high when there was a game to be played. The determination the team showed was unbelievable. The team consisted of a tough defense that kept their opponents to a low score and an offense that never stopped trying. Jackie McGowan made All Conference and the all star team; and was given the red letter honor. With her sound great help and coaching, Mrs. Annie Freeman made the season a learning one, accompanied by lots of fun. The Dragons achieved just about every award there was. Ten players were named to the All- Conference team. No other team has ever had more than 8. The defense was also responsible for 6 shutouts. The team took the league title, conference title and the coveted Rutgers Cup Championship. No other football team in Levittown has ever won the cup and Division B. one of the few Conference III teams to ever win this prestigious honor. A key victory this year was against cross- town rival Memorial. 14-7 By this victory Division clinched the Conference III B title. Noted victories were over 1 vnbrook. 14-0. Also on the starting line-up were juniors Janine Rot her and Tricia Reisig This year's team had many players who went unrecognized but their contributions to the team's success were outstanding The Dragons were ranked third in Nassau County as a result of their undefeated league record. They captured their league and conference championships. Their victories included wins over some of the highest ranked volleyball teams in the counts Unfortunately, the Dragons only loss eliminated their chance to keep the county title. Homecoming day November 7, 1981 proved to be one of the supreme memories of our senior year. The outstanding day began on a brisk Saturday afternoon. The traditional homecoming parade down Division Avenue started our festivities off right. Floats and banners entered by each of the three classes and various organizations made the parade the most colorful yet Each of the princesses and their escorts were driven to the game in chauffcred cars Patiently everyone waited for halftime to hear who would be crowned queen. Jeanne Compton, escorted by Doug Dougherty was named our lovely 1981 homecoming queen. Her court included; Lucille Ruvolo, Sue Guerra. Krissic Kelly and Monica Munnelly Escorted by Gerry Brown. Tommy Sullivan. Mike Napolitano and Joe Weingart. The football team shut out their opponents, the Lynbrook Owls 14-0 to add to the days excitment. Later that night, the Class of ’82 hosted the homecoming dance. Through the exceptional effort of both Dr Watson, advisor of the Student Government, and the senior class, our homecoming day was by far the very best They waited patiently . . . CAP AND GOWN MEASUREMENTS It came about in January. Most of us were not thinking about graduation quite yet. This turned out to be one of the many preparations for the big day. Seniors took time out of their lunch periods to be measured for their caps and their gowns. Gowns were measured by the height of the student. Caps were measured by the primitive yet accurate way: tape measure. A CLASS MEETING Since our sophomore year we have all attended the meetings of our class. They were the few times during the year when we all got the chance to sit down and listen to our class officers. Meetings were held to discuss planned activities, fundraising ideas and problems faced not only by the class but by the school itself. A great deal of fun never seemed to slip by any meeting of the class of ’82. 127 INTEGRATED STUDIES ’82 ate the fish. Having twelve wives is Mr. C’s wish. Everyone loves Sue G’s red. rosy cheeks. And this is I S. - Class of ’82. 129 February 15. 16. 17. - will we ever forget these three glorious days shared together at the Ramada Inn. Lake George0 One would doubt it. The five hour bus ride to West Mountain only built up that special feeling we all felt. The one thought in everyone’s head was that of hitting the slopes. We arrived at the mountain early that morning Most of us managed to get in a full day of skiing. Later, we went to the hotel, unpacked and got ready for a wild night of parties, dancing, and anything else you could possibly think of. The following morning brought another beautiful day of skiing Some of us stayed behind and took full advantage of the pool and the relaxing jacuzzi. Another night of excitement followed There were toga parties, punk dancing, and loud wildness were all part of the fun. Sleep was an obsolete word on this trip. Wednesday was our last day. The morning began with the walerfight of a lifetime. All too soon it was time to pack and return back to Levittown. Our Chaperones couldn't have been better sports. Mrs. Brown. Mr. Wise. Mr and Mrs. Graham, and Miss Wagoner all shared our great time. Our trip turned out to be as outrageous and outstanding as our class itself. One that will remain in the memories of all.
