Anne Ward wonders, as Sue McGee, Colleen Curly perform the electrolysis in their chemistry class. science Proudly displaying their physics projects are Sue Kuliga, Holly Harnmann, Sue Miller, and Mary Ann Thuemler, ln our modern world of today Algebra and Geometry prepare the girls for studying the sciences and provide the basic needs tor the fulfillment ot today's technological require- ments. Biology, Chemistry, and Physics students work and study in our large, well-equipped modern laboratories. They do everything trom raising hamsters, making toothpaste, to assembling one tube radios. Through experimenting with Hook's Gas Law, Newton's Laws ot Motion, and oth- er basic principles we have increased our knowledge ot the universe and the laws gov- erning it. This helps us prepare ourselves tor college and future employment. Many girls study these subjects tor their own personal interest, or to increase their ap- preciation ot the universe, and its workings. These attainments will help till the paramount needs ot the future American. a well-rounded Catholic education Gosh that really looks cold! Lois Schroeder might look ill now, but in a few days she'l1 be as j bright as ever with the help of her home nurses - Pat Silke, Sharon Gieringer, and lane Felker. she acquires . . lt isn't a double exposure, it's just the Bianco twins in their advanced sewing class. Kathleen Schaefer offers her sug- gestions, as Mary Ellen Littel cuts out her pattern. sewing ln a spacious lab, with four modern kitchen units, the foods classes learn not only to cook and bake, but they also learn home budgeting, how to launder clothes, child care, and home nursing. The girls in sewing classes were kept busy the first few months of this year with making costumes for the Glee Club's presentation of the Nutcracker Suite. After this project was completed, the girls settled down to learning how to make their own wardrobes. Their skillful hands produced such things as coats, sports outfits, dresses, pajamas, and formals for themselves and others. 82
