On Government Day they picked truth in- stead of consequence. Left to right: Cathy Pfannerstill, Lois Sch- roeder, Marilyn Caputa, Mary Lou Bennett. social studies The various social studies aim to teach the girls the de- velopment of the world and man, and knowledge of their dif- ferent social, cultural, economical, and political stages. American History, a required study, gives a detailed knowledge of the history of our own nation. World History shows the development of the many coun- tries in Europe and Asia. Good grooming, crafts and many homemaking tips are in- cluded in the course Christian Family Living, which is taken by all Freshmen. They do such projects as making dream house scrapbooks, and have contests in good grooming, becoming hair styles and correct posture, The American Problems classes learn of American society and government, and of the economical and cultural status of the country. They discuss the good and evil in our way of life, and try to formulate plans for making America the ideal nation of the future .
