Meyer, S.T.D.. S.S.L. Archbishop oi Milwaukee Catholic education is the basic toun- dation of tomorrow's priests, sisters, Catholic men and women. lt is a fundamental part ot lite for the development ot spiritually- sound minds. Msgr. Edmund I. Goebel, as Archdiocesan Superintendent oi Schools, is striving for this, and the reflection ot his work in the followers of today will show in the leaders ot tomorrow. 6 Through his God-given grace and through his own personalability and leadership. he leads us as the Good Shepherd once lead His sheep. Christ once said Thou Art Peter and upon this rock l will build my Church. . This pertains now to us, the Catholic Youth. We are a minority of The Ar- chdiocese but upon us the Catholic Church ot tomorrow is being built. Through his guidance, We can strengthen the iaith ot the world. Woman is made tor love. . The Right Rev. Msgr. Edmund I. Goebel, Ph.D Archdiocesan Superintendent oi Schools our chaplain The greatest privilege that can be given anyone is attendance at daily Mass and Holy Communion. This the Greatest Prayer, was .strongly advocated and was originated here at D.S. this year by our chaplain, Father Robert I. Schubert. His classes will be long remembered for the many hours of humor, dominated by a strong basic knowledge and love of our religion to enable us to represent and practice it as true Catholic women. Through his works in the Catholic Herald Citizen he has undoubtedly given numerous people the Key to Heaven. His efforts and in- fluence here at D.S. as the man who serves Christ, as the teacher who gives us the knowledge of Christ, as the priest who shows us the way of Christ, will leave an everlasting impression. Father Robert I. Schubert for the giving of herself . . Father Donald Quartana Father Gordon Weber A ,gi I ig -.ing ir .gjxg priests Father Edmund Olley With their light and wisdom they show us the Way Through their knowledge they guide us. A deeper and stronger love and re- verence for Christ fills our hearts as we climb life's ladder to its infinite termination. With each step our understanding becomes greater, striving always for the height of perfection, as they lead us, the Catholic women of tomorrow in our everlasting quest for happiness. i Father Cyril Ianicek O.F.M. Father Iarnes Roeske S.D.S Father Cletus Kaiser Father Claude Klotz .S.D.S Father Robert Krupske in personal, devoted service. Uanet Kalvinl our principal ...Bb-. Sister M. Charline, S.D.S. Very few are truly aware of the never-ending duties and obligations which confront a principal. Only a person possessing outstanding ability could un- dertake the responsibility ot the supervision of a school. The leadership, responsibility and untiring service which Sister Charline has given to the correlating of the activities of students and faculty have gained for her the utmost respect of all who know her. She sets for us a model, and through her example, our ideals are exalted. 9 Sisier Mary Damien, S.D.S. Religion, English, lournalism it is their duty Sister Mary Thomas, S.D.S. After that there is a crowd in the bursar's office as we pay for our new books, for the coming year, and there's a bustle in the bookstore as we receive our new supplies. At the end of the day as we board the homeward bus, we hope that this will be a prosperous year in which we will do our best in our lives as students and Catholic youth, and will work hard to prepare ourselves spiritually, soci- ally, and mentally for success in our later lives. bacher get their first look at D.
