THIRD ORDER FATHER ANGELUS PRESIDES at the monthly Third Order meetings at D.P.A. Father is director of the Third Order of Saint Francis in the Pitts- burgh Fraternity. It seems that everyone enjoys his visits, for he is kept busy traveling from one school to another to be present at the meetings and to talk with the Sisters and students. Father invited Sister Marie Therese, who helps him in his Third Order work at D.P.A., to go to Saint Bonaventure's College, New York, for the August 1958 Convention of the Third Order. SISTER MARIE THERESE RECALLS the highlights of the convention as she shows Mary Ann Vincunas, Kathleen Smola, Marilyn Winklmann, Shirley Vento, and Adrian Lotz the remembrance Father Angelus gave to the school as a souvenir of the convention. The girls are Crusaders of the Poverello, which means they belong to a special group of the Third Order.

THE MOTHERS' CLUB PLANS its activities for the year under the careful guid- ance of the officers of the club: Mrs. Meenan, Mrs. Rotunda, Mrs. Vollero, and Mrs. Pizutto. SISTER AGNETA organizes her schedule to co-ordinate with Sister Mary Robert's. Sister Agneta is superior of the house and must plan a schedule for all the sisters.

Senior Wins Miss D.P.A. Title D.P.A.ites return to school in keen anticipation of what lies ahead - the Miss D.P.A. Contest! They take time to scrutinize each other care- fully, keeping an ideal model in mind. The virtues of a Queen for D. P.A. are not unattainable perfections but are the simple everyday actions of a good Catholic girl. The excitement of the nomination, the joyousness of the election, and the awesome secrecy of the period before the big rally, all add up to that happy occasion when a candidate is presented by her classmates to the student body in some hilarious student-edited skit. Each eager class takes many chance books to gain popularity votes for its nominee who is working of course, harder than all the rest. At long last Christmas arrives, and with the party, comes the announcement of a new Queen of D.P.A. Joy reigns supreme as the seniors discover they have won by a landslide. Victoriously they lead Carol away to plan the big celebration. And oh, what a gala occasion the crowning will be. Carol is not only the choice for Miss D.P.A., but is also the Valedictorian for 1959.
