Carole Kersting, Ann, Shirley, Anna Marie, Carol Paganico, and Susan receive f ot all are beginners, but all are persevering and de termined to earn the inal tips from Sister Rose Bernard before their departure on Friday afternoon. Congratulations to Anna Marie for winning third place in Oratorical Decla- mation. How the girls enjoyed it! Even during the car strike they made great sacrifices to attend meetings. Janeis car, when it finally arrived was always crowded to capacity. She not only brought fellow students to school from her vicinity, hut made many early morning trips for neighbors. Joan, Marie, Dolores, and Mary Ann were daily passengers. Then, very abruptly, we found ourselves in the midst of a car strike. What were we to do? Some girls just couldnit make connections. So-if they cared to sleep on army cots, Sister thought she could put them up for a few nights which turned out to he many weeksg but Mary Ann, Virginia, Mary Mar- garet, Janie, and Carole seemed to en- joy boarding. Mary Margarefs birthday conveniently happened during boarding season and gave the girls an excuse for having a party of their own.
