aan W In 1943 there was an eager 13 kids waiting to be enrolled in Divide School Among these were Jean Lewrs Annette Monroe Geraldine Bledsoe Gloria Lewis and Charles Oliver Our teacher was Mrs B B Shelton for the frrst three years rn school In the fourth grade Mrs Shedd was our teacher and we were Joined by Gary Don Jewell and James Hyde Mrs Etter and Mrs Orr taught us the fifth year and Mrs Orr and Mrs Shedd taught us the sixth year That year Glenn Daniel Joined us James Etheridge enrolled when we were tn the seventh grade We thought we were big as we moved upstairs and had four teachers They were Mrs Brownfield Mr Cry Miss Lee and Mrs Orr In the eighth grade Martha Shrpp Patricia Wells and Mary Ann Rendon joined us Mrs Brownfield and Mr Gasslot taught us We graduated a grade of 13 the same as in the first grade We really were looking forward to being in high school In our freshman year we started out with 14 rn the class James Patton teachers were Miss Kitchens Mrs Craig Mr Wallis and Mr Porter At the end of the year the girls went to Possom Kingdom and spent two days Our sophomore year wasn t much of a change except Roxy Moore got married and left us We went to San Angelo on a field day and Jerry Bledsoe represented our school at the state F H A convention Mr Porter Miss l-Iart graves Mrs Craig and Mr Wallis were our teachers When we were juniors the high school took a trip to the Palo Duro Canyon and spent the week end and had a real good time Gloria Lewis became Mrs Lister and left our class The only drfterent teacher we had was Mr Buchanan who took Miss Hartgraves place And now comes the most joyous year of all' Our Senior Year' This year fortunately our class neither mcreased nor decreased we remained 7 with Mr Porter Mr Buchanan and Mr Haggard as our teachers Martha Shipp was class president and Jean Lewis was crowned Carnival Queen escorted by Glen Damel Jerry Bledsoe and Gary Jewell were class favorites And now to graduation then into the world and our futures As the years go on and we look back with many happy mernortes we will remember our good ole days at Divide School I O joined us.
