We the class of 1960, dedicate this, Our Year Book to YOU. Mr Johnson, as a token of our appreciation for, you the 'Coach' and well known 'Teacher', of our High School Mr Johnson was Born November 10, 1908, in Heed Cit Michigan He had five brothers and sisters, one other be came a teacher He attended Grade School and High School at R995 3117! He participated in all sports in High School such as , Track, Basketball, Baseball, and Football He entered College at Central Michigan College, Mount Pleasant There he again participated in all four sports He became All Conference Full Back, in his Freshman and Sophomore years He received All Conference Guard in Bas ketball when he was a Freshman and a Sophomore He did not stop at All Conference, but also became All State Guard in Basketball The team he played on never lost a game out of 125 games played his B S degree at College too His Major was in Physi cal Education and his Minor was in Health Education and Social Science Mr Johnson also went to College in Indianappolis, where he there received his degree in Physical Therapy He first started teaching at Luther School for three years There he coached Basketball Ferris Institute in Big Rapids was his next stop for one year There he Co ached intramural sports Dimondale then was lucky enough to receive his great ability for teaching sport Here his main sport was Football although he has had first team Basketball for two years and second team Basketball one year He also coached Baseball one year He not only was 'Coach', but also taught a variety of subjects such as Biology Typing Phyisology, Geography and all Social science Studies For a time during the war he was called for service to his country There he became a Military Policeman for a short time He met his wife in 1934, and was married November 2 1937 He now has a bouncing baby Boy, born November 13, 1949 His special hobbies are Sports and Travel 9 ' yn His life was not all made up of sports, he received : I I f I
