SENIOR CLASS PROHHECY Ten years ago, 1945, seventeen unexperienced kids were graduating from D H S I returned to my Alma Mater the other day and was looking at the beautiful trophies in the case The Dimmitt Bobbies had won them I asked to be introduced to the coach of that famous team I was ct really surprized when I met Coach Sue Watson While I was in Dimmitt I ran into Mrs Billy Carthel, nee Dorothy Cllngingsmith She had just returned to Dimmitt for a visit I also got acquainted with the little four year twin boys who are already learning Math I flew down to Austin last week to see the former Dorothy Ziegler when I learned that she was Superintendent of Nurses in her husband' hospital While there I attended a concert presented by a famous pianist Io and behold when the tall, slender woman walked out onto the stage it was none other than Mrs Ray Aldridge, nee, Marilyn Gollehon When I went o1t to he State University to see a friend o 1 e I ran into Professor Billy Jones He hasn't changed at all He'll still do 8UYtHlHg to get out of class Who do you suppose is the head bookkeeper at the University? That's right It is that sweet little girl Genevia Collins, new Mrs Billy Ayers Barbara Ann Hunter finally decided to settle down and enjoy life at its fullest She and her handsome husband and adorable daughter are living in Dallas Her next door ne'ghbor is Mrs John Curtis You'll remember her as Mary Autry During the time Mary 1sn't tending her four year old son she nurses at the Dallas General Hospital I went out to California a few weeks after I arrived in the states I ran into Norma Hunter in San Francisco She, too, Has changed her name ani she and Marvin Cryer have triplets . u o 0 I . . . CLASS HISTORY n 1954 a group of small thlldre dressed all soick and snan trooped to school to begin their school days under the supervision of Mrs Strin er, kiss Garrison rs Clemons, 'lss Ewin , hr Farl y, s 1 , Reeves, Niss Whitford and Miss Barnett It was with enuine regret tnat they bade goodbye to rade school to enter the seventh rade With the seventh grade came a new schedul of work and a taste of lgh schocl just ahe d raduatlon high school life, which nad los some of lts glamour In 1941 the Freshmen class organized, thrilled to the utmost at the prospert of really being a cart of hi h school As freshmen the flrst real class oartles were experienced and what grand new experiences they proved to bel Due to the efforts of an interested sponsor, the class completed a successful year Through the sophomore year they looked forw rd to beinv Juniors, and having a more 1 po tant role 1D high school The Juniors of '44 had a glorious year Under the leadership of the sponsor, Miss Morris, and Class president Dorothy Clingingsmith, they marched through the year preparing themselves for the bi year of '44 and '45 And now the seniors of '45 are here This year has begun wi h the bi gest bang the school has felt in years Leadin the activities is the publication of an annual With the aid of the other classes,the seniors are backing the annual with all their strength Mr Strother as class sponsor and J E Harmon as class president have led the class ith an untlring effort It is only natural that students should leave Dimmitt High School, proud to have been a part of it Dorothy Ziegler - W .
