These 35 little shipmates with our captain, Miss Heloise Rodarmal, started on our voyage of education on a clear September morning in l9h3- The names of these shipmates were: Jean Ann Bosse: Marilyn Cutter: Norlta Cutter: William Cocker- dam: John Daniels: Gerald Dennis: Phyllis Dunn: Charles Glenn: Janet Goodpaster: Jerry Gordon: Mamie Gully: Louise Homann: Robert Hudson: Anita Johnston: Stella Mae Kells: Joan Lane: Jerry Raiser: Phillip Raiser: Scharlene Ryle: Daniel Schmaltz: Richard Schuman: Joy Scott: William Scott: Grace Smith: Joan Steele: Beverly Steuver: Jean Thayer: LaVerne Thayer: Joyce Vinup: Dale Waldon: Perry Waldrn: Glen Weather- ford: Gerald Walker: Betty Zimmerman: William Zimmerman. . In our next years of grade school the followingcaptains helped us over the troubled waters: Mrs. Goldie Michel, Mrs. Irene Rumpb. Miss Clarise Elston, Mrs. Jeanette Graver, Mr. Roscoe Riggins, Mr. Lester Kruse, Miss Ruby Skelton, Mr. Edward Secor, Mr. Wilbur Stegemoller, and Mrs. Catherine Droege. On May 2, 1951, our crew, by new reducedin Zh, received our eighth grade diplomas. These 2h who had struggledi rough eight years on the turbulent seas of grade school were: Jean Ann Bosse, Carolyn Brett, Marilyn Cutter, Lydia Holliday, Helen Jackson, Anita Johnston, John Klausing, Joan Lane, Bettie Peters, Stanley Rice, Dorothy Schardt, Joy Scott, Lawson Simpson, Grace Smith, Virginia Stegemiller, Beverly Steuver, Jean Thayer, Laverne Thayer, Joyce Vinup, Donald Weiss, Glen Weatherford, Betty Zimmerman, William Zimmerman. Ta CUP freshman vear we started on the higher seas of learning in our beaten but yet 'aithful ship. We had lost Jean Thayer and Lawson Simpson since our last year but had gained Audrey Auxlen David Benning, Donald Bowling, Evelyn Brandon, Bonnie Craig, Ruth Droege, Larry Elder, Louise Homann, Joyce Licking, Glenroie Pruss, Nena Sellers, Charles Workman. During our sophomore year we gained 2 new members, Ida Bolling and Larry Damon, but also lost Donald Bowling, Evelyn Brandon, Larry Elder, Bettie Peters, and Stanley Rice. Boarding our ship again we found a new shipmste aboard, James Bill Kinnett, but missing were Audrey Auxier, Ida Bolling, and Lydia Holli- day. As we entered our last days ,on this voyage of education, our crew consisted of 27 seamen, 12 of whom had started out on this journey so long ago. This year we gained a new crew member, Ronnie Crosby. Looking back we feel just a bit sad about leaving this place to which we are so accustomed, but when we look ahead we realize each has a new voyage awaiting. 4441?
