FCIDHREWVQJESED on I? The graduating class of 19-17 is proud of the opportunity to publish for Dillard High School its first Yearbook. In this publication the class attempts to portray the life they have lived during their lligh School days. It is not their ambition to give you a perfect picture of literature and arts, but rather to set down in a simple and impressive man- ner some observations of their classmates, friends and their characteristics. VVe have done our best to present you a mirror to the activities of our school as a whole whose ven- erable walls are so dear to us. NVe wish to express our appreciation to all whose con- tributions, both literary and financial have made possible the publication of this book. Acknowledgments are dlle Mr. Brown, oul' principal, for his kind interest and encouragement, the faculty for their approval of our effort and their advice, Mrs. Alexander, Mrs. Jackson and Mrs. Minnis for their revision, constructive criti- cism and suggestions, Mr. Lucas for supervising the draw- ing and illustrative materials, M1'. llousc for directing the taking ot' our group pictures, and Miss Riggsbee for super- vising the typing of all materials used in this edition. The members of the staff, have tried to show that the class of 19-17 is Headed in the right Direction, and we hope you will catch this spirit as you read these pages. XVhilc reading these pages please refrain from criticising any imperfections but become as one of us and you will share the joy we had in bringing them into being, and read between the lilies the value which constitute the spirit ot' Dillard lligh School.
