CLASS WILL NVe, the class of '17 of Dillard High School in the connnonwealth of North Carolina being of sound mind and body as proved by Mrs. Alma XV. Minnis and tested by Mr. H. V. Brown, do lnake our last NVill and Testament, hereby revok- ing all other wills made by us. VVC lnake the following bequests: To our beloved Principal and Faculty we bequeath our sincere thanks and ap- preciation for the watchful care exer- cised over us during our high school ca- reer, to them we extend our whole heart- felt gratitude for their patience in cor- recting our difficulties, to them is due a heavy mortgage on our future in the realm which lies before us, for they have headed us in the right direction. To the Sophomore and Junior classes we bequeath our ability to learn. Personally we make the following be- quests to the teachers and students: To Mrs. A. .l. Minnis, another set of ap- preciative seniors. To Mrs. M. K. Jackson, a group of stu- dents with perfect manners. To Miss R. Gray, a class of perfect Eng- lish students. To Miss C. Hatcher, a bundle of smiles. To Mr. M. C. Miller, more lads like Farriorg interested ones. The Senior Class wills to Mrs. Thelma Jolmson, a group of perfect Sopranos, Altos and Basse's in the Glee Club. To Viola Bonner, .lolmice Sutton leaves her ability to sing. Mary Alice Parks wills her shorthand ability to Buth Taylor. Edith Smith leaves her ability to work to Corine Hamilton. To Ruth Hawkins, Serena Bailey wills her ability to play basketball. Cora Foster leaves her laughter to make the school cheery after she's gone. Katie Faison leaves her ability to curl and style hair to Inez Smith. Carol McKay leaves her pleasing dis- position to Maggie Arrington. Irene XVall leaves her quiet ways to Geneva A. Bland. Dorothy XVhite leaves her fine, brown frame to Granger Leggette. Ruby Foster wills her physique and typing ability to Marie Chestnut. 5-1 .Q y.g.g.x.g.x.g-X.X3-X-Y1.X3-X-X-Y1-X-' ,-X-5-X-xug-X-X-X-X-X-g-X.g.X.g.x.x.x.X. XVillia Bennette would like to leave Moses but finds it impossible. Kenneth Becton and XValdo Barnes leave Muriel Reid their football ability. Marie XV. Lockhardt wills her nice ways to XVilveria Bass. Thomas Bryant and Boscoe Grantham leave their ability to find friends to ev- eryone. Grover Holmes would just like to leave. Clarise Sampson sorrowfully leaves her friskiness to Vera XVilliams. Cleo Barnes leaves to lidnaree King some ability to do something worth- while. Margaret Ilall would not think of leav- ing her ability to come to school every day and get her work done to anyone but Lizzie Smith. XVilliam VVhite leaves his ability to eat to XVilliam Hollingsworth. Swindelle Barnes leaves to Louis Fish- er his ability to sing. To Moreland Foster, Kenneth McNeil wills his height. Collecting the excess meat in the class we leave it in a lulnp to Florence llogans and Annie M. VVilliams, hoping they will divide it equally. Lydia Thompson and Rosa NVashing leave to all the classes their good will. .lames Faison and Henry Berry along with Hubert Crawford leave their High School books to anyone wanting them. Lela Ham and Irene Smith leave their ability to smile to Susie Sherard and Ber- nice NVhitted. Kendrick Jolmson leaves his serious mind to Dottie Thompson. Last, but not least, we will to our Alma Mater henceforth and forever, harmony. unity, success and prosperity.
