X 1 f I NARRY LEAGUE CHAMPS The 1959 Lions captured their first Narry League Crown in what proved to be a 'most successful and thrilling season from its opening win over Somerset to its final victory. Going into the Tech Tournament, the Dighton nine sent some formidable opposition to defeat, only to bow out to an impressive Methuen team in the last stages of the Class B Championship com- petition. bb TECH TOURNAMENT goofgaf 1959 From the first pep rally to the glorious finale, this was a season to be remembered. Displaying a fighting spirit and a will to win second to none, the 1959 Lions compiled the best seasonal record of any Dighton eleven since 1951. The team would like to thank the coaches for their guidance and help throughout this season, and would take this opportunity to extend to them, its best wishes for an equally successful record as they field a new team for a new school and a new future. 0 3 .M ,J v ,f mf 4' Y 'A mv 5 x Y 9 I s ir 3 W Ak S The Dighton Lions finished the 1959-60 basketball campaign with an over-all record of 10 wins and 8 losses. Entering the Bay State Tournament, the Lions defeated Martha's Vineyard Regional 46 to 56. ln the next tourney game against Ap- ponequet, they fought into the closing minute of play before losing, 55 to 50.
