SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY Paris, France March 15, 1949 lle Paris, now better known as Mademoiselle Clare le Fare, left on her around the wor d trip to collect material for her new book nThe Class of 1940 n The plane in which he is traveling is the one tha she purchased after she won the Pulitzer Prize We know the plane as the L C H S 40 ' She has as her pilot,.Ed11nTShay, who has won great renown in aviation A condensed story of her travels w ll follow at a later date Paris, France May 24, 1950 We started from Paris or the 15th ol March, 1949 Our first stop was at Lelsinkl, Finland, where xe found Hebert Yatgs as an architect Fe had been em ployed by the Finnish Government to rebu'ld the cltv In the war trlcken ones of Germany, Eileen Anderson was winning creat fame for her work as a Red Cross Nurse Vona'Br5tE'wEs'statloned at St Uoritz, Switzerland, where she was a professional s er Of all places to flnd Qengya Qurrl 'ae was in Turley pur suing the Sultan In China we found Rachel Farley as a missionary Her great est difficulty was learning to speak the Chinese language We decided to go to Africa and here we found Henry Boone, as a frontiersman, following the footsteps of his great, great, great grandfather, Daniel Boone! As we were going over the Indian Ocean we sighted Leonard Thomas, a second Halliburton, rowing around in an outrigger canoe We went to Hawaii, and there we found Nor as a famous hula hula teacher We at last came in si ht of the good old U S A prise when we found the leading male role was played by none other than-Dwight -,rnilliger For thevaudevi11e,Baby Snooks was to appear in person, but because of illness her understudy, Crace Thomas,took her place with much poise and ease After the show our former classmates who had appeared on the performance, tertained us at the Trocadero, where to our amazement we found Anna Mar Stremel another home town girl making good as a hat check girl at this amous club The next day we left for Arizona where we were invited to spend a week's time at the X Bar X Dude Ranch run by Dwight McCoy The present day Lady Esther, whom we all knew as Jean Church, was alsospiyin one of her very frequent visits there, and Walter Winchell says that everybody is expecting her name to be changed be fore many moons We had started on when I had a sudden attack of appendicltis, so we landed in Denver and I was rushed to the Denver Hospital, where Desmond Aikman was the head surgeon. Since I was an old friend he operated on me even though he is a rib specialist The nurse on my case was Alberta H who is Cibson's private nurse From some rumors I heard he is sti l aimln' to ask her Dr ibson said he thought I needed a good rest to regain my health, so we went up to the Ranch in Montana where we found LeNore, Melton and three darling sons triplets name Pete, Repete, and Backfire eks' stay here we went to Omaha, Nebraska It was necessary for me to get a prescription filled in Omaha, and who should be the one to do it but Harley Towns While here I thought it might be well if I went to the beauty shop Kt'tEE'Town Inn Beaut Sal adjoining Harley's drugstore,who should be working but Aleen Bretz t seems they still keep pretty close contact with each other Et- Nebraska, I was becoming eager to visit the old home town of Dlghton As we approached it, L C H S still stood out above all the other buildings except one When we landed I found it to be the mansion of the Heiress of the Variety Millions, whom we knew as Bernice Robb Later as I drove past it, I saw several 'schmall children in the g our visit we were guests at the Clarence ,ggyant ranch southwest of Dighton Clarence and his lovely wife,,Lg1s:'-had'E' dinner party for us and invited several of our old classmates. The guests were Evelyg McCoykMcWhirter, a happy housewife, Hogg-Elaine-Wh4t4ng,. Superintendent c 061s a Grigston, and Helen Shull chief telephone operator in Dighton. We spent the evening visiting, attention was called to the Red Hart Dog Biscuit Program which starred Vada Toadvlne who is now playing the role of the former Kate Smith On the same program appeared the two nLaugh at your own joken comedians, Irene Kuehn and Evelyn Hartman They appear on the air under the name of WV1 and Maude W awe EEH'a very good time here at our old home town, and we surely hated to leave In a St Louis newspaper our attention was called to the fiery headlines which read ggrgld-Qchmalzried Running for President of the U.S. for the Sixth Time.n Still Running of uStr1cE Construction. In the Washington column, 'Our Day,n we saw that Secretary of Treasury, Willi - ley stated that at last the budget was balanced. In the same co umm we read tha was up for appointment to the Supreme Court. After leaving St. ouis, we went to Chicago where the great criminal lawyer, Roderick. Bentlgy,. was defending Al Capone, Jr., who was caught taking lollypops from babies. We visited the N.B.C. studios in Chicago and found one of the dramatics staff to be Ida Roehl, We rushed to New York so we could attend the World 8 C I .
