This was disconnnued ofrer rhe firsr year, bur educarors who hod mer connnued rheir own srudenr exchange programs There has been much positive feedbock, and rhe pro- gram connnues ro be a success Mr Dierer srared, This is rhe ideal rrip for kids because rhey ocruaily live m rhe homes and experience Ger naan culture firsr-hand For many srudenrs rhis was on exciring as well as a new experience They gor ro see first- hand how srudenrs from orher countries lived Srudenrs interested were signed up through rhe help of rheir teachers STUDENTS UNITE TO FORM LED’S ENGLISH SPEAKERS LANGUAGES OF OTHER This year or Deruff there was a larger rhon ever increase in Hispanic srudenrs Mosr of these srudenrs, from many parrs of rhe world, had no knowledge of rhe English longuoge They could nor properly function among orher srudenrs To help them, rhey were enrolled in rhe English For Speakers Of Orher Languages Program or Dieruff The program was under rhe guidance of Mr John Psolko Learning rhe English language a long and sometimes frustrating process About rhe program this year Mr Psolko commented, We reach our srudenrs rhe American lan- guage and culrure . .. basic rools rhey need for economic and social independence, and as a passport ro wherever future rhey choose ’’ Confusioni!
