Honor Society members take a break from sign labors. Band members prepare the scaffold to hang ceiling decorations. The band hall jammed wth people and decorations. The Bandfront won first pnze with their decoration of the Main Lobby. The FBLA hall was noted for its different types of displays. The Cheerleaders finished second for their efforts in the Commons.

SPIRIT DAY DECORATIONS: Painting windows as well as each other .. . not going home so you can decorate ... getting over your fear of climbing ladders ... Who has the tape? ... putting the best decorations on your friend's locker ... busting balloons in the main lob- by ... streamers that keep falling ... getting paint on your favorite sweater, .. That was my idea! ... getting out of classes to finish signs ... Who can draw a Husky? ... hurrying to get finished before the judges come ... finding out that mixing orange and yellow doesn't make red .., Who took my paint brush? ... You're sitting on it! ... trying to stay away from painted areas . . . sneaking around to see other halls ... decorating for three or four organizations ... seeing ev- eryone disappear when it's time to clean up .., getting psyched from the slide show ... making up origi- nal slogans ... No, you may not use that word! . ,. waiting for an- nouncement of the winner: The Bandfront Hall! Togetherness members paint a canary cemetery. Sophomores roll out their signs. National Honor Society provides some comic reliei.

HE AIN’T HE’S MY BROTHER’ Freshmen come to Dieruff and brothers and sisters three years apart are once again in the same school tor the first time since their elementary years. Seniors: People always asking, Is that your little brother? ... your name being yelled down the hall ... having the feeling you have a permanent shadow .. . forever being asked to help with homework ... being introduced or pointed out to peers ... your par- ents making you drive them to school ... fighting one day ... talking the next ... never noticing they're around ... telling friends your pesty sister is adopted ... wishing them four fun years at Dieruff. Freshmen: Free rides to school . .. being punched in the hall ... having your name recognized by sister's former teachers ... getting a free review of their past behavior ... having your own personal loan shark ... finding the first year easier ... a free homework helper ... confiding in your older sister ... getting good ad- vice ... not listening anyway ... free rides to games ... feeling lost .. . being found ... wishing them the best of luck in the years to come.
