During class they research their topics, then give speeches, and later in the year they will be debating. The students learn several types of speeches such as informative and per- suasive. The speeches are sometimes quite inter- esting. loAnn Gilbert showed the class how to groom a cow for a fair. Some of their activities are attending plays, operas, and workshops. French I stresses the basic vocabulary, while French ll deals, in detail, with fluency and proper pronunciation. Scott McRae said he will remember the chocolate sandwiches, while Sandi Parker said she will remember the French customs the most. When French students are asked Parlez-vous francais? they can truthfully answer oui. Scott McRae does not like chocolate sandwiches!
