Memories make it all worth while. Our class flower is the white rose, our colors are pastel rainbow, and our motto is We shape our lives, not by what we carry with us, but by what we leave behind. All that is on our side walk, but there are lots of memories not written in concrete - like the time in kindergarten when Dale Harris made his crashing debut by leaping through the glass door at recess. Tommy Fagen was a Superman fan, but he soon found out he was unable to leap tall buildings in a single bound when he jumped off the carport wall and broke his arm. Once Andy Norwood was found hiding in the ovens trying to escape the pres- sures of name that color! In first grade we ga ve up our jumbo pencils and our red school house for a new elementary building several blocks away. Mrs. Bailey and Mrs. Rooks helped us pass to second grade. Show and tell was the big highlight of that year, and boy did we tell. From third grade on we began an era of knuckle- down studying. Multiplication tables and spelling words were our main con- cern. Toward the end of third grade, the excitement of moving to the big building grew. Before we knew it, we were ready to tackle junior high. We had to learn how to operate combination locks and fight our way to the bottom lockers all in the same breath. We also learned there were rules to be followed. Re- member when the seventh grade basketball girls had to run because of the lip prints in the doctor's office? Then at last we were freshmen. We had to start at the bottom of the totem pole again, but at least we had a name. It seemed as if we'd never be seniors. Being a sophomore was just as bad. We never got any respect. Finally we were getting somewhere when we became juniors. You know, the ones who never stagger. Who 'll ever forget leven if you tryj the play, THE WORM SHALL SQUIRM? There were long nights of rehearsal, writing our names on the backstage walls and even a paint fight while we decorated the set. Then came the lunior-Senior Prom of 1986. The best way to describe it was hard work. We spent hours hanging streamers, and that was the easy part. Moon Dog from TUX 99 was a success and we all had a great time. Now it is 1987, our senior year. It has been the fastest year we have ever lived - from the flashy homecoming through spring break and the prom. Graduation is coming with blue and white gowns and the turning of tassles. We will go our separate ways, but we have realized that memories make it all worth while.
