nmmntij Finding Your Way At D.S.C. Career decisions take time. Students at DSC are given assistance in deciding classes. majors and scheduling problems. This one-to-one atmosphere is encouraged by the faculty to help students examine their goals and ideas. Opportunities in many different Helds of study are often discovered. Ques- tions of how do I decide my schedule?, can I change majors?, which is the best decision for me to make?, what are my options?, need answers. The deans of men and women are available for counseling situations along with a full-time career counselor and a tutor in student services. I've needed on several occasions to discuss my future plans. My advisors have taken the lime and given me the fads from which I was able to make a clear decision. New Experiences Traveling abroad is one of many beyond the class- room experiences that students can participate in. Field trips, special guest speakers, festivals, seminars and workshops send students from the Student Center to San Diego and around the world in learning situa- tions that leave impressions for a lifetime. The field trips and applications of knowledge that we've learned gives a lasting source to call upon. Susan Mayo Senior The placement of DSC grads into the working world has a history of success. Over 95%of all graduates that apply to the placement office are employed in less than one year. A full-time em- ployee works with students to Find permanent and part time employment for those completing their education and those seeking work to subsidize their college education. Seminars are offered, on preparing credentials into a resume for job inter- views. pre-arranged interviews with prospective employers on campus, and bulletins on employ- ment vacancies throughout the state and nation.
