REMEMBER 1979 As the year of 1979 closed, so closed another chapter decade of our lives. The seventies brought many changes; Gas prices steeping at Sl.lO galloni the end of the Vietnam War. the beginning and fruitless end of SALT I and II talks with Russia; a floating laboratory in space for space study; and an event which still remains in the minds of most people — Watergate. The usual partying occured as the New Year was initiated. We never realized that the old paths and old times and old memo- ries of the 1970's had now become the new paths, new times and new memories of the 1980's. So as we attempt to record moments in our lives, we forget one important detail — time never stops. Agricultural students wait patiently for their instructor to arrive for class. Jim Ley. Jr., completes an assignment for Children's Lit. class by preparing a story for community children. 2 Carol Arnold. Fr.. paints the final posters for the ASA Homecoming entrant float.

A NEW DECA 1980. A new decade with new problems, new decisions, new policies. From the Iranian conflict to the serious problems of the world, this decade will be one of many decisions which will affect the lives of the generation from which we come. This new decade will bring many new faces to Dickinson State College. As we, the present students of DSC face into the past, along with us will fade the memories and the poli- cies that rule us now. That, in-its-self is the reasoning behind a yearbook. As a visual and written memory of the times, the decisions, the events and the discoveries which have helped shape and form our lives. It also serves as a record to the future students, of what occured during OUR year, the school year of 1979-80. 1979-80 Homecoming Chief. Tom Arnold, looks on as he leads the annual homecoming parade down main street. Dickinson. May Hall, oldest building on the DSC campus, has endured many new deca’s. 4
