No love, no friendship can ever cross the path of our destiny without leaving some mark upon it forever. No one will ever forget the loss of our friends, Barbara Buchholz and Milody Johnson. Both were DSC students and lost their lives in car accidents. Let there always be a space in our heart for them. - The Editor

| President's Message I Dear Students. It is a pleasure to welcome you to DSC. Your decision to enter college indicates your serious desire to prepare yourself to take a responsible place in society. DSC recognizes its responsibility to you, and its academic approach has two basic assumptions: that education is something that happens to an individual and that each individual is different. Within this context the college will seek, first, to develop in each of you the abilities, the curiosity, and the motivation which will enable you to increasingly assume the responsibility for your oum education, both nou and later the ability; in short, to become intellectually independent Secondly, DSC will seek to convey to you a belief in the value of the kinds of intellectual activity in which the college is engaged. These objectives form the essential meaning of a “liberal education. The college must work in this way because we recognize that the flooding tide of new knowledge overruns the stabilities of the past. There is no possibility of giving tomorrow's ansu ers, for we do not even know tomorrow's conditions Instead of answers, we must give you processes for reaching answers and a base from which you may continue to build the structure you will need tomorrow. I wish for you, on behalf of the whole college, a very successful and happy college life. Albert A. Walrel President DSC President Albert A.
