The psychology and education division seeks to improve the student's under- standing of the role of elementary and secondary education; to increase abilities in organizing materials for teaching, se- lecting, and using instructional techniques; to increase understanding of the learning processes and improve understanding of the reactions of elementary and secondary school students; to provide experiences which will give the student an opportunity to engage in a variety of teaching situa- tions; and to improve the student's under- standing of the psychology field. Student teaching opportunities are available in the Dickinson, Bismarck and Mandan school systems. 21
