DeLong President of Dickinson State College Under President DcLong's leader- ship, DSC has become North Dakota's fastest growing college and proudly lives up to its slogan quality educa- tion in the West. PRAIRIE SMOKE MESSAGE The issues of Prairie Smoke provide posterity with the most complete record of events in the history of Dickinson State College. Prairie Smoke is more than a recitation of events of a given year — the personalities and the spirit of the year are caught up in the pictures of people and events and preserved as they were at the time history was made. The year 1963-64 was no ordinary year at Dickinson. New positions added to the instructional staff, two new build- ings on the campus, the continued growth of the student body, the vitality of the students as expressed in the activity programs of the college, all indicate that forces of growth and progress have been at work during the year at Dickinson State and the people whose pictures appear in this annual have all been a part of this significant year. —O.
