“ The Student Lawyer I am the student lawyer, and I know just Where I stand Another courtroom advocate and another Learned Hand. Today I am your champion, I may have won your case. But I lmow the game, you'll forget my name I won't be here in another year If I don't keep up the pace. I am the student lawyer, and I've had to pay the price The things I didn't learn at first, I learned by briefing twice. But still they come to haunt me, they call on me in Class. So I learned to cook With my nose in a book I raise my hand and I read from the can And I pray to God I pass. I am the student lawyer, I've been over to the gym I'd rather be there lifting weights than getting bored in Grim. I can'ttremember cases, I don't remember names. Ah, but What the hell, you know just as well 'Cause after a While, When you've learned to file It all becomes the same. I am the student lawyer, and I'll give you some advice Stay away from Dickinson, it isn't very nice. Expect the worst from teachers, you'll Wind up hating them. You'll feel alone, they'll make you want to go home. But if you stay, they're gonna make you pay And you'll Wind up at the Fem. I am the student lawyer, the self-crowned King of Torts. You heard my latest argument, I gave it in moot court. It took me weeks to write it, it was the best brief of my life. It was a legal song, but it ran too long If you're gonna Win the case, you gotta fit the space So they cut it to fifteen-oh-five. I am the student lawyer, the idol of my race I'll make all kinds of money When I can leave this place. You'll see me in the paper, I'll be in the magazines. But if I get tired, Iwon't get hired, I'll get pushed to the back, like a legal hack And a faded pair of jeans. I am the student lawyer, and I know just Where I stand Another courtroom advocate and another Learned Hand. Today I am your champion, I may have won your case. But I know the game, you'll forget my name I won't be here in another year If I don't keep up the pace. ?:- FUBLK DEFENDE f- DISTPKT ATTORNEY t vNawptoyMENr oFHcE. ail MAGAZINES Fog SRLEI mcKmsou
