xxx ' ' X WX X2 My T WR X WW x R xN X sNX sNXxXX XXNYYNNXX sXXXXXXX XXSRN Dickinson Law Review . 4 One of the most important functions of all Law Schools is the work carried on in their Reviews. Law Schools are the outgrowth of the last century, and within that period the idea of publishing aca- demic discussions of moot questions, as well as articles intended to aid the student on different questions, has sprung up. We are not aware of the intentions of the first publishers, but whether .the Dub- lication was for the purpose' of reaching a more appreciative or erudite audience than students, with their causticisms, or whether the purpose was to relieve themselves of some of the more grueling mo- ments in class by giving the student the benefit of a previous study of the problem, the idea has proved a brilliant one. The Dickinson Law Review is not the least important of these publications. ' Constant allusions to articles are found in the decisions by the Courts of the other States. References in the Text Books are numerous. The report of iMoot Court decisions is of invaluable aid to the student, both as incentive to conscientious preparation and val- uable criticism. ' Volume twenty-nine is nearing completion, and excellent articles are contributed by the Dean, Professors I-Iitchler, Harper, Hutton and Myers. The Criticism of Judge Caverly's decision in the Loeb and Leopold case, which aroused a nation wide interest last summer, ap- pearing in the October number, as well as an article on the 16th Amendment followed by A Word on Stare Decisis are Dean Trick- ett's contributions. The long awaited article on Tenancies by En- tireties by Prof. Hutton appeared in the February and March num- bers. Professor Hitchler contents himself with an article on The New Definition of Murder in the First Degree. Mercifully we are spared hypothetical murders with baseball bats. f'l-low to raise the Standard of Morals for the Legal Profession, was the contribution of Professor Harper: We refuse to state whether his panacea can be sought at all drug stores. Messers Martin and Schantz who have been the butts of alleged witticisms aimed at squires are at last appeased by an article by Professor Myers on The Justice of the Peace and Tres- pass in which he remarks on the importance of the office past and present.
