How often have these words of the great statesman been echoed and reechoed in the hearts of college men. There is no spot upon earth, except his home, that the college man learns to love as he does his Alma Mater. He loves it because he feels that it is a part of himself and that he is a part of it. It may be that it is possible for one who owes allegiance to a college whose history is before it to love and honor his Alma Mater, but to a man who has studied in the halls and trod upon the campus of an institution which can point to years and years of achievement, whose history is a part of the nations, it seems that no college but an old college can awake the truest and deepest feelings of honor and veneration.
