GYM ACTIVITIES This yeir 1 definite step forward was made by the Gym Team New equipment w1s furnished by the Executiye Committee which enibled more students to participate than previously We are quite sure that with this additional equipment nova available gym that popular body building actiyity will find many new adyocates in our school next year Throueh the efforts of Mr Joseph Ciretti greater effort and interest h ive been erelted in this sport as evidenced by the fast growing., membership The athletic program at D A II H S compares fayorably with any other school of like niture In the hrst part of the school year the 'rthletic calendlr is mainly bas ltetball both inter scholastic and intr1mur1l Also in the winter season the wrestlers soon IS thc spring, welther comes in tr1clc 1nd tennis 1re also enplpcd in by mmy of the students 'Ihe gymmsium does not become dormant in the litter months of the school term Quite the opposite it is more actne during these months be ause of thc intra mural softball league The biggest thrill of this league comes when the term in first place lttempts to oyerwhelm the faculty In closing we ply tribute to Mr oseph Clrettl instructor of gym vnorle i r Caretta attended Panzer College and wls awarded 1 medal for outstanding perform mces on the gym team He also coached md instructed fencing at Stlte Norml Sachool be fore coming to D A E I-I S Under his direction the gym is 1 plelsant place in which to work and play twlce 1 week Stl nly FL 2 2 I I I ' ' ' ' ' . .
