Mark 22 Junior High tP f This year in sports was a rebuilding year for Dibble Athletics. With the loss of 10 senior football players, 6 senior girls basketball players, 5 senior boys basket- ball players, and 6 senior baseball players, Dibble Athletics had a tough year ahead of them. Despite the youthfulness of the teams, they played with determination, a strong desire to do their best and we admired them for never giving up when times got rough. A true mark of a good athletic program is the sportsmanship with which a team plays and Dibble Athletics displayed fine sportsmanship in all areas. Congratula- tions, players, on four fine seasons! The Dibble Math Club was organized on November 2,1984 by Sponsor, Brenda Smith. The club was developed to enhance the feelings of students to engage their course studies in higher mathematics. Members have visited the University of Oklahoma's math department; had guest speakers in to talk about mathematical games and tricks, and mathematics in Aeronautics. Field trips have been also taken to Enterprise Square, the Engineer's Fair held at the Omniplex and a skating party at Norman. Fund raisers and bake sales have provided the club money to go on these field trips, buy the Print Shop” computer pro- gram which students, faculty, and organizations use to make posters, banners, and cards. The club's latest contribution was made to Dibble's Math Department. Mathematical supplies such as rulers, compasses, protractors, etc., resource books and games were bought and put in a locked cabinet for all mathematical teachers to use when needed. Even though the club's sponsor is leaving Dibble, the members have showed interest in continuing their club. The Math Club feels that everyone has a need to belong somewhere and by continuing their existence, it may provide a place of belonging for many students that may not yet have found their place. THE NATIONAL ORGANIZATION FOR BOYS STUDYING VOCATIONAL AGRICULTURE Dibble FFA participated in several activities this school year. We started off the year by going to four summer livestock shows, the State Limousine, State Hereford, and the State Swine field days. Our judging team placed 2nd at the State Hereford field day. In the fall, we had a local livestock show. We also showed at the McClain County Fair, the State Fair of Oklahoma, and the Tulsa State Fair. In November, our officers attended the Central District Leadership Training Conference where they were taught how to give a speech and perform their officer duties. Terry Alexander and Kyle Jackson entered the Greenhand Contest. This spring we showed at Shawnee Jackpot show, the Central District Show, Dibble local show, Mc- Clain County Spring show, and the Oklahoma City livestock show. The Grand Champion Barrow at the county show was the highlight of the spring shows. Our livestock team placed 2nd at the County livestock judging contest with Danny White 2nd high individual. We also judged at the Murray State Interscholatics. We participated in the Dairy Livestock, Shop and land judging contests. Our State FFA convention was in April in Oklahoma City. At our local FFA banquet, Danny White, our local FFA President, crowned Miss Tammy Keeler FFA Sweetheart for the 1986-87 school year. Joe Koerner and Frank White were made Honorary Chapter Farmers. We finished off the year by going on the FFA trip to Lake Texhoma for three days. While we were there we skied and fished. 49 Clubs Organizations DIBBLE HIGH SCHGCL JG. The main goal that we, the Annual Staff, set out to accomplish this year as publishers of the 1986 Yearbook was to present you, the student body, with a yearbook that you would be proud to say was yours. You would be proud to show it off and proud to say that it represents Dibble Public School. As we look back through the yearbook, we firmly believe that we have accomplished this main goal — to create Something Totally Different for the students at Dibble. We are very proud of the yearbook and hope that you share in our enthusiasm for the finished product. It is our hope that as you flip through the yearbook, memories of past events and feelings that were long forgotten are awakened and brought back to mind to be relived once again. The yearbook will provide many precious memories now, but the joy you will receive from looking through the yearbook in the years to come will far surpass the enjoyment ex- perienced at the present. Now we must say goodbye to our many friends we have made over the past years and look toward the future. As we depart, we leave you with one final thought: Take time to enjoy your remaining school days and classmates for all too soon they will be over and gone forever. We would like to say a “BIG thank-you to the following people for the help they have provided in making this year- book possible: Blunch’s Studio, Moore Oklahoma Mr. and Mrs. James Sparks Mr. Bob Perkins Mr. Herman Coleson, Taylor Publishing Representative
