Fright ight Feast Nobody told us we could. No- body made any announcements about it. Nobody arranged any prizes and everyone figured we'd get into trouble for wearing cos- tumes-but Halloween had always been our day. We had a lot of visitors at school that day. Did you recognize any of them? Vernard Hampton said, lt took a lot of courage to dress up. Who would want to be a boogie boy? Some one came as a nerd, our very own Shauna Renfro. Of course, you saw Pippy Longstock- ing-Lisa Cassell. And Raggedy Ann- Missy Byrns. How about Rambo? Did you recognize who that was? Donald Brown. What about the Ho- meboy that was holding up the wall. Did you know that was Coach Stacy? Of course, there were problems. Darrell Salzido said, I had a cos- tume in line, but my brother backed out of letting me use it. Amy Hop- kins said that she wasn't scared of getting into trouble for dressing up. Well, really! So what if nobody told us we could? Nobody that we recognized showed up that day any- way. BOTTOM LEFT: Captain Nancy Dela- at the Little Drummer Boy Doyle Blackhawk. Rosa says, Ahoy! 'R- 'W'm AMW 3:3 5, E iii Homecoming Probs The plans began before anyone even thought about ordering mums. They began in September Student Council meetings. Then the possibilities seemed endless: we could have a dance or a bonfire- even a parade. Yeah, a pa- rade. GET REAL. We must have been afraid of good change as well as bad change fin a year that brought nothing but changel be- cause we never really got it togeth- er for the parade. There were prob- lems with the permit, problems with the flat beds, problems, prob- lems, problems . . . And then prob- lems with the weather. We just wer- en't meant to have a parade. Some werenft even meant to have mums. All clay girls walked around with sneers on their faces and lumps in their throats over the humiliation of it all, while others sported huge mums and conceited smiles. When it was time for the pep rally, we geered up only to be let down. It wasn't what we expected. Nothing was. Good thing Home- coming was for alumni. 5 i Q, 3 4 li .,: - if g V- - - sg 4 VIN , .- TOP RIGHT: You know it, Baby! Seniors of TOM RIGHT: Mark Stierwalt looks on as '86 Rule.
