We didn't always score, but we usually gain- ed some ground. The newspopers colled us exceptional. Reporters said that we were the best class to go through DHS in a long time. Was it true or wos it hype? We proved ourselves on the ploying fields by breaking sports records and winning games. We sweated it out in the clossrooms ond the laboratories of DHS to earn our academic credentials, winning thousands of dollars in scholarships along the way. Many honors come to us and we made our parents proud. Dur brawn and brains were not the only things that mode us exceptional. Good athletes are a dime a dozen and so ore smart kids. Whot made the difference? Sum it up by saying that we just love living. We never gave up. When someone knocked us off our feet, we crawled. When we didn't know the answer, we made on educated guess. When we were hurt, we soothed each other's pain, applied a Band-Aid and kept on comin.' We were a determined bunch and in determination lies the ultimate victory. When someone challenged us, we rook it straight to them and then beyond. Bur all thor is history. DHS is our post. College ond careers and marriage ore our present. Once again we musr prove ourselves. The future is o giant question mark. Can we cur it? Will we continue to be the best? I cannot foresee the future, but I do hove a hunch that someday the chronicle of our lives will read: They took it to the limit one more time.
