Miss DHS: The CATS’ “Meow Julie Shipman was chosen Miss DHS 1986. This was the first year that the queen was chosen by the popular vote of her fellow students. Julie is an active member of her Senior Class and has been a Miss DHS candidate in the two previous years. A delighted Julie said, “I feel honored to represent my class and my school.” She is president of the Senior Class, treasurer of Student Council, and a member of National Honor Society. Julie loves playing volleyball and let- tered two years on the Varsity team as a spiker. She is a representative for Volleyball in the Fellowship of Christian Athletics. She enjoys being with friends when she isn’t working at McDonalds. Junior Becky Christian an attendant to Miss DHS, is a Varsity Wrestling cheerleader. She was also a candidate for the crown last year. In her spare time she enjoys being with friends and talking on the phone. Her school activities include Pep Club, FHA, Band, and Flag Corps. Senior Lisa Banken, an attendant to Miss DHS, enjoys many extracurricular ac- tivities and ranks high in her class academically. She is a member of FBLA and STUCO. She was inducted into National Honor Society and serves on the REVEILLE staff. Lisa also enjoys reading and skiing. Julie serves a special friend. Rollan Sturgess, with a smile. 4

Lisa is all smiles while helping with the desserts during the annual StuCo dinner. Balancing gracefully upon a T-top was a duty enjoyed by Miss DHS and attendant Becky Christian. David isn’t the least bit shy about kissing a beautiful girl like Julie. The roses were red, their smiles were true, and they were proud to represent you. The Royal court consists of attendant Becky Christian escorted by Chris Rimel, Miss DHS Julie Shipman with escort David Christian, and Lisa Banken on the arm of Keith Talkington. 5
