An Active Role in Student Life Miss DHS picks up Coach Wooley's mail as part of her teacher's aide job dur- ing sixth hour. At DHS. beauty queens welcome responsibility and get the job done right! Tracy’s escort. Patrick Crawford, has never been this close to a queen be- fore. Lee Ann concocts a secret chemical that will make everyone's smile as sweet as hers. At DHS. beauty queens also have brains. Rhonda lends a helping hand at the Student Coun- cil Senior Citizen's Dinner. AT DHS. beauty queens believe in service to oth- ers. 5

Miss DHS and Her Attendants Play Miss DHS Tracy Riggins poses with her attendants. Rhonda Cooper and Lee Ann Dean. When Tracy Riggins heard her name announced as this year’s Miss DHS. she was both surprised and thrilled. Tears of happiness ran down her face as she whispered to her escort. Patrick Crawford. I can't believe it!” Tracy is a busy member of the junior class who has been a Miss DHS candidate in two previous years. ’I guess my third time was charmed.” she laughed. Tracy enjoys playing volleyball and lettered this year on the varsity team. She works as a teacher's aide to Coach Wooley each day. She likes her job because she is able to practice her secretarial skills and be of help to someone Tracy smiles and says. I am very proud to be Miss DHS. I never knew that I had so many friends. The first runner-up to Miss DHS. Rhonda Cooper, keeps busy with a multitude of activities. She has been a member of Pep Club for four years, a member of FCA for three years and this year serves as the treasurer of DECA. She also belongs to FBLA and D Club. Rhonda has served on the Student Council three years and played on the volleyball team throughout high school. During her freshman, sophomore, and senior years. Rhonda was a basketball cheerleader This well-liked lady was a member of the Fall Homecoming Court during her sophomore year and this year was crowned Homecoming Queen. Also during her sophomore year. Rhonda was a Winter Homecoming Queen candidate. The second runner-up to Miss DHS was Lee Ann Dean. This active young lady has been a member of almost every organization at DHS. including FBLA. MES. FHA. FCA. IASIA. D Club, and Pep Club. She has been a STUCO member throughout her high school career and served as vice-president this year. She also participated in the junior varsity band program. This sports-minded young woman played volleyball four years. She added spirit to wrestling matches and basketball games as a cheerleader for three years. She has the distinction of being an honor roll student throughout high school and was a member of the Band Queen's Court her freshman year. 4
