Winter Homecoming candidates and their escorts are Jennifer Agey and Perry May. Kristi Vaughn and Bri- an Mahan. Erin Wam- ble and Jim Rhodes, Jeri Richards and Mark Coots. Molly Derryberry and Keith Almond, Leila Kanda- laft and Tim Young and Tammy Webber and Dean Derryberry. Winter Homecoming Week at DHS provides fun and ex- citement for the entire student body. Posters go up in the hallway, lockers are decorated and special dress-up days provide students with a chance to show their cre- ativity. The festivities were capped off with the annual school dance after the game. The cheerleaders work hard to organize activities and spread basketball fever. Melinda Miller, Linda Miranda and Suzy Yoder prepare to present the traditional roses to the Queen and her court. 25

Winter Homecoming: Pretty Girls And Lots of Fun SUPPORT ft-BEMS The 1983 Winter Homecoming Queen is Jeri Richard, a junior. She is a flag corps member of the band where she also plays first chair flute. Jeri was nominated by the varsity wrestling team where she served as a cheerleader. The first attendant. Erin Wamble, is a senior. She has been active in several DHS sports including tennis, basketball and softball. She is a member of FCA and Pep Club and was also the first attendant to the Fall Homecoming Queen. Molly Derry- berry, the second attendant, is a freshman. She was a Miss DHS candidate and was selected as a Class Favorite. She plays volleyball and girls’ basketball. 24

At right Tammy Massey, a junior business student, uses the “guillotine to cut some paper. At left: Archery practice in P.E. class brings out the “Indian blood in most males. Rick Brown fires an arrow into the bullseye as Coach Wooley prepares to do the same. At right saxophonist Kari Monroe lends her talents to the stage band. This group often brings DHS alive with the sound of music. 26
